“Hope locates itself in the premises that we don’t know what will happen and that in the spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act.”

— Rebecca Solnit

Therapeutic Approach

I work with those looking to address a variety of issues, including:

  • Healing family of origin/ancestral wounds

  • Navigating life transitions

  • Exploring identity and meaning

  • Cultivating joy, creativity, and flow

  • Developing healthy relationship patterns

  • Dismantling perfectionism/imposter syndrome

  • Moving through grief and loss

I view therapy as a collaborative relationship in which my role is to help you leverage your strengths, resilience, and intrinsic potential for change while cultivating a deeper understanding of the issues you wish to address. I strive to embody openness and curiosity in our work together to foster an atmosphere in which all aspects of self and experience can be explored without judgment.

I utilize an integrative approach that draws from a variety of theoretical orientations, grounded in relational-psychodynamic, attachment-based, interpersonal, and strength-centered frameworks. This tailored process begins with understanding the unique goals of each client, allowing for a focused and individualized journey toward growth.

Throughout our sessions, clients can expect to enhance their capacity for insight, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and psychological flexibility. As clients develop these essential skills, they often experience improved interpersonal relationships and a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in their lives. The therapy process is not just about addressing symptoms; it’s about fostering a stronger, more resilient self.

I have a deep understanding of the unique experiences of creative, high-intensity, and highly sensitive individuals. These traits often intersect with ADHD, giftedness, sensory differences, and other forms of neurodivergence. My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming perspective that recognizes the distinct capabilities and challenges that come with experiencing the world a little differently. I focus on recognizing and amplifying your strengths, offering strategies that align with your authentic self and encourage you to thrive by working with your natural tendencies rather than against them.

I also specialize in issues that emerge at midlife, a unique time in which new stressors and shifting priorities can manifest in unexpected ways. Processing losses while reimagining goals and identities can help illuminate previously unexplored possibilities during these challenging transitions.

Beyond any therapeutic modality, research continues to identify the therapeutic relationship itself as essential to the efficacy of therapy. Finding a good fit is so important to this process. About Me

Hi. I’m Bonnie, therapist and owner of Amdur Integrative Psychotherapy. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle. I am licensed to practice counseling in the state of Washington.

My professional life has followed a multidisciplinary path, beginning with undergraduate studies in art and philosophy. Before becoming a therapist, my career was in sustainable design research and consulting, working to align human wellbeing and environmental health through design of the built environment. Thinking holistically and systemically about creative adaptation and flourishing has been central throughout these varied yet interconnected areas of focus. My therapeutic approach is deeply informed by the perspectives and thought processes gleaned from those experiences.

Originally from Northern Virginia, I’ve been lucky to call the Pacific Northwest home for more than 30 years. In my free time I love to paint, dance, read, garden, become immersed in live music and theater, and explore the natural beauty of the region.
